What's Up with the Spine - Series BASIC (6 Lessons)

$36.00

The spine – 24 vertebrae - is the central bony structure that connects our head and the pelvis. It has a chain-like ability to bend, twist and pull. It has curves that can function in a springlike fashion. It provides us with stability and moveability, and it has the potential to transmit forces. In short, the spine is fundamental to every movement.

This Basic series is especially helpful for people who are experience discomfort or pain in their back. You will be guided through a series of gentle lessons - this series is well suited for anybody - even if you have never done Feldenkrais before.

Lesson 01 Bending of the spine

In this lesson, you will learn how your whole spine can become available for bending. You will experience how this can lead to becoming upright!

Lesson 02 Side bending in different positions

You will discover how your spine can side bend (lateral flexion) in various spatial positions (In standing, on your back, and on your belly)

Lesson 03 Gentle rotation of the spine

One of the fundamental functions of the spine is to gently rotate as we walk. In this lesson (laying on the side) you will be guided to rediscover this basic movement.

Lesson 04 Rotation over the length of your spine

In this lesson you will learn how your spine can rotate and twist over the entire length of it.

Lesson 05 Extension over the entire length of the spine (prone)

Become aware how all the vertebrae of your spine can be engaged in backwards bending (arching). You will lay on your belly of most of the lesson.

Lesson 06 Sidebend with Sinking legs

This lesson will use many of the elements of the previous lessons and combines them into and exicting movement sequence.
