On March 13, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19, the disease resulting from the novel coronavirus, a pandemic.
We are in the midst of a global health crisis, and quarantines, travel bans and cancellations are in place around the world. Here in North America, numerous states have taken steps to contain or mitigate the spread of the virus.
Like millions of other people, I am deeply affected by these drastic shifts both personally and professionally. I had to cease all one-on-one private lessons and cancel all live classes and workshops. My kids will be out of school for the foreseeable future.
From my own personal experience, I know that the Feldenkrais Method has so much to offer and has many times in my life helped me to overcome challenges. Perhaps now more than ever, there is a need to calm our nervous systems, counteract the fight-flight-freeze fear responses and return to ourselves. Building our resilience, balance, and ease will help all of us get through this challenging time. One of the core ideas of Feldenkrais is the ability to adapt. This is one of the guiding principles of the work!
Here is my plan:
I will teach 5 classes each week out of a very old barn in Vermont direct to your living room. Each lesson will be different. You are welcome to participate in as many classes as you want. For the full schedule and description of the classes, please go HERE. After the Tuesday class, Turner Osler (MD) is available to answer your questions.
How can I join a class:
I am using ZOOM as a communication platform. That service is free for you; please install it on your computer. Please click “Online Classes” at the top of the website, and register for the class you are interested in. You will receive an email from Uwe with a Zoom link. This link will be the same for all of Uwe’s classes.
What is the charge?
The payment is on a donation basis. In these extreme times, we want everyone to have access to these lessons, regardless of the ability to pay. For that reason, until further notice, payment is not required if you are experiencing hardship. For others, please donate with a suggested payment of $10 per lesson.
For students of my previous “live in-person classes” who have a class card with me, contact me directly if you would like a refund. Alternatively, check with me about your current balance. You can use it towards the online classes you are attending.
Spread the word
I need your help to make this work. Please share with your family, friends, and neighbors, especially during these times of increased isolation and uncertainty. Please subscribe to my newsletter to receive updates.
Stay healthy,
Uwe
